Chartered in 1959, the Richland Club is the second oldest in Columbia, SC. As a Columbia resident, you probably know this Club produces the annual SPORTSARAMA football spirit event in August at Memorial Stadium.
Sertoma Spring Fling!
For the second year in a row, Richland Sertoma has held a "Spring Fling" at The Millstone at Adam's Pond. This social/fundraiser replaces the annual Mardi Gras auction that was cancelled in 2010. Please join us for an evening of fun, beer, wine, barbecue and good music, provided by the band "Drive South," while we auction off a few top-notch items and catch up with old friends. The weather should be warm and the location a hit! Tickets are $30/person or $50/couple. As with all of the other fundraisers, all proceeds go towards sending speech and hearing impaired children to Camp Sertoma, as well as to our other local charities including Carolina Hearing Aid Project and Children's Chance. This event raises funds to sponsor children with speech and hearing impairments for a camp week. It's life like they have never experienced. Young dedicated counselors are adept at sign language and provide campers with skilled supervision and terrific life-long memories. Richland Sertoma Club also provides scholarships at Columbia College for students studying for careers in the speech and hearing therapy field.

Sportsarama
Richland Sertoma's principal fundraiser is Sportsarama, a pre-season football jamboree held each year in late August. The club sells advertising and publishes the souvenir game program. The club also sells concessions during the event and votes on the Mr. and Miss Sportsarama candidates. The fundraiser's 50th anniversary was just celebrated in August 2010.
Annual Golf Tournament
Beginning in 2008, the Richland Sertoma club began sponsoring an annual golf tournament which is held at Fort Jackson each year. The tournament, which is usually held on a Friday towards the end of October, has been a great hit and excellent fundraiser for the club. We also have always had fantastic weather (knock on wood!). The club provides breakfast and lunch for the golfers, along with beverage carts and goodie bags. The 2011 tournament is scheduled for Friday October 28th, 2011.

Mardi Gras Party and Auction
The Richland Club used to sponsor a Mardi Gras Party and Auction to benefit speech and hearing programs in the Midlands; however, this event was cancelled and replaced in 2010 with our "Spring Fling" which was mentioned earlier.
Other Events
Over the years, Richland Sertoma has participated in other fund-raising activities such as MayFest, St. Patrick's Day Festival, horse shows, air shows, hot dog sales, and coupon book sales, and recently, a golf tournament usually held in late October at Fort Jackson.
